I was just checking emails and I had an Artsy email: Kelly, new for you: Mary Corse from Frieze London. I click and here is this image of a piece that is currently at Frieze London at the Lehmann Maupin booth. It seems like it JUST LEFT the studio! I've watched this piece from start to finish, just another piece in progress lining the walls of the studio, with that blue splashed all over the bathroom from brush cleanings, and then here it is--a bright, professional image of it...in London. There is a sort of intimate familiarity and a strange disconnect, like the funny schoolmate who you now are watching on big screen from a seat in a theater. It was nice watching you grow up, Untitled (Black and White with Blue Outer Bands, Beveled), 2014.
