I am interested in visual perception, light, space, and volume (or lack of). I create hard-edge geometric compositions made up of abstracted shapes and inspired by the Light and Space movement. Bright, complimentary colors are often used to bring about a color “vibration” or an after-image. Color fields are created using acrylic, glitter and, recently, faux fur, with the glitter throwing off a light and color shift when the viewer moves around a piece. With the use of these materials and colors, I am straying from the customary, austere format of light and space and hoping to create something a bit naughtier, more playful, while adding an obvious feminizing effect to these movements that were primarily male-dominated.

My work in the studio is rigorous and precise, but once complete and on a wall, I hope the viewer will find joy in it time and time again.
